UA jersey tour: Jauan Williams

WATCH: Jauan Williams UA jersey presentation

The theme for the Archbishop Carroll High School football team this season is “Restore the Roar."

On Wednesday afternoon, the restoration of a storied program took another step when ESPN 300 offensive tackle Jauan Williams and teammate Richard Merritt were presented with Under Armour All-America jerseys in a ceremony attended by teammates, friends and family.

The 6-foot-7, 306-pound Williams is fully aware of what the prestigious honor means for a program he's had a part in bringing back to winning ways.

“It means a lot,” said Williams. “I feel successful being invited to play in the Under Armour All-America Game. It’s a great accomplishment to be one of the 90 players from around the country invited. This also means a lot for our school to have two Under Armour All-Americas."’

“For the boys, it’s a great honor,” said Archbishop Carroll coach Robert Harris. “It means a lot to the program, and the history of the program. We have a saying this year, 'Restore the Roar,' and this is big in that. I believe we are the only school in the country with two offensive linemen in the Under Armour Game. This is a big day for the entire Carroll family, including the alumni.”

Williams, the No. 67-ranked prospect in the class of 2016, is one of the most heavily recruited prospects in the country, with offers from many of the nation's top programs. While ESPN's No. 7-ranked offensive tackle has yet to schedule official visits due to a number of Saturday games on Carroll's schedule, there are three programs standing out.

“Alabama, Florida State and LSU are my the top three," Williams said. "I haven’t set up any official visits yet, but will definitely take them after the season. I have thought about announcing at the Under Armour Game or on signing day,”

Five questions with Jauan Williams:

What player are you looking forward to competing with or against in the Under Armour All-America Game?

Rashan Gary. I would like to go against him because he was great at The Opening. He’s No. 1 and you want to go against the best, right?

If you could start a team with any player in your class, who would it be and why?

Josh Ball. He’s a really good tackle, a friend and I know how hard he plays. Having good offensive tackles is important. On defense, Gary and McTelvin Agim would be good picks.

What is your earliest football memory?

Playing defense when I was 15. That was when I was a freshman. Football was all new to me. It started exciting, but got rough and tough.

If you could take on any pro in their sport, who would it be and why?

Jadeveon Clowney. Basically because he was the No. 1 pick in the draft, and I would want to test myself against an end that went No. 1.

What number do your wear, and why?

I wear 72. I wear 72 because most offensive tackles don’t wear it. A lot wear 74 because of The Blind Side, and I wanted to be different.
