WHEATON, Ill. -- A second former Wheaton College football player arrested on felony charges after an alleged hazing incident has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery charges. Kyler Kregel's plea came Tuesday before a DuPage County judge, and he was sentenced to one year of conditional discharge and ordered to complete 100 hours of community service. Kregel, 22, received the same sentence as 21-year-old Noah Spielman, who pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery charges in March after prosecutors agreed to dismiss nine felony counts. Kregel, Spielman and three other Wheaton players were arrested last year in connection with a 2016 incident in which they allegedly duct-taped a teammate and dumped him half-naked in a park. The teammate, who has since left the school, also told police his attackers attempted to sodomize him with an object.
