South African Super Rugby side the Sharks have announced a warm-up fixture against French Top 14 side Racing 92 in Hong Kong on February 3.

The Sharks will likely come up against their former flyhalf Pat Lambie, who recently moved to Racing and has been in fine form since his long-awaited return from injury.

Coach of the Durban side, Robert du Preez, says they will use the high-profile match as a key part of their build-up to the 2018 Super Rugby season that kicks-off a fortnight later.

"Racing 92 is an impressive team with quality players," Du Preez said on Monday. "A match against them will be the ideal test that we require at the start of the 2018 Super Rugby tournament, in terms of preparation and the fine-tuning of our game plan."

It will be the fourth time in five years that Racing have taken part in the one-off fixture termed the Natixis Cup.

They have previously met fellow Top 14 side Toulouse (2013), a HKFC President's XV (2015) and New Zealand side the Otago Highlanders (2016).
