SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Sophomore transfer Dior Lowhorn scored a career-high 30 points and had nine rebounds to lead San Francisco to its second straight win, a 93-63 victory over Sacramento State on Saturday night.
Freshman guard Myron Strong added a season-best 21 points as the Dons (2-1) beat the Hornets for the second straight year and nine of 11 overall. Danny Cavic had 14 points.
Donald Thomas scored 16 points to lead Sacramento State (1-3), which lost its ninth straight on the road dating to last year. Loren Leath, the Hornets' leading scorer, added 10 points.
Lowhorn, an Oakland native, spent his freshman season with coach Bobby Knight at Texas Tech where he averaged 7.2 points and 3.9 rebounds.
Lowhorn established his presence early, and then took over in the second half. He was 13-of-21 from the field, 8-of-10 in the second half. Lowhorn also hit his only 3-point try as the shot clock was winding down.
The Dons led by at least 20 for most of the final period, and shot just over 56 percent for the contest. San Francisco made 67 percent (8-of-12) of its 3-point tries.
The Hornets did not help themselves, turning the ball over 24 times.
Clark Woods hit an early 3-pointer to extend the Hornets' streak of consecutive games with a long-range shot to 380.
The game was tied at 23-23 midway through the first period when the Dons scored 10 unanswered points en route to finishing the first half on a 27-10 run to take a 50-33 lead into halftime.
