(Updates after Liverpool v Everton)
LONDON, Jan 25 - Steven Gerrard was again
Liverpool's saviour on Sunday as their inspirational captain
secured a 1-1 home draw with neighbours Everton in their fourth
round FA Cup tie.
Gerrard, who gave Liverpool the lead in the teams' 1-1
Premier League draw on the same ground on Monday, was sent
through by a clever Fernando Torres backheel nine minutes into
the second half and scored with a low shot that Tim Howard
should have saved.
Injury-ravaged Everton had gone ahead midway through the
first half when Tim Cahill was left unmarked to head a corner
goalwards and Joleon Lescott's headed flick diverted the ball
past Pepe Reina.
Liverpool, who left striker Robbie Keane out of the matchday
squad, dominated possession throughout but created few clear
chances against a well-drilled Everton rearguard.
Earlier on Sunday, last year's runners-up Cardiff City held
10-times winners Arsenal to a goalless draw at Ninian Park.
