Free-agent guard Derrick Rose has agreed to a one-year deal to return to the Minnesota Timberwolves, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Rose, 29, played just 25 games last season, splitting his time among three teams. He played sparingly for the Cleveland Cavaliers before being traded to the Utah Jazz at the February deadline.
Quickly waived by the Jazz, Rose signed with Minnesota in March and appeared in nine games, averaging 5.8 points and 1.2 points in 12.4 minutes.
He thrived off the bench in the Wolves' first-round playoff series against the Houston Rockets, posting averages of 14.2 points and 2.6 assists in 23.8 minutes.
A three-time All-Star guard and the 2011 NBA MVP, Rose has been slowed by several knee injuries in recent years.
