Jaguars' Brian Thomas Jr. gets TD after Texans' muffed punt

HOUSTON -- The Jacksonville Jaguars have been looking for a spark. Daniel Thomas gave them one. After getting one first down, the Jaguars got to their own 45-yard line before being forced to punt.

Logan Cooke's kick forced Texans returner Steven Sims to move to his left and signal for a fair catch. But he muffed the catch inside the 10-yard line and Thomas, a gunner on the right side of the field, grabbed it at the 2-yard line.

The Jaguars turned that into a touchdown -- a 2-yard pass from Trevor Lawrence to Brian Thomas Jr. -- on the next play.

Thomas made a big contribution to the Jaguars' second TD drive as well, catching a 32-yard pass from Lawrence to set the Jaguars up at the Houston 27. Four plays later Lawrence hit Christian Kirk on an out route and Kirk hit the pylon to score his first touchdown of the season, which put the Jaguars ahead 20-17 in the third quarter.
