NEW ORLEANS -- Saints wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling joined the team one month ago after being released by the Buffalo Bills. In just the past two games, he has tied for the team lead with three receiving touchdowns. The Saints' newest receiver got his latest score with 12:53 remaining in the second quarter Sunday. On a third-and-1 at their own 29, quarterback Derek Carr faked a handoff to Alvin Kamara, rolled to his left and found Valdes-Scantling open in the middle of the field. He took off untouched for a 71-yard touchdown to put the Saints up 14-6. Valdes-Scantling gave the Saints the speed element they lost when wide receiver Rashid Shaheed was placed on IR. Shaheed and tight end Foster MoreauĀ also have three touchdowns on the season. Valdes-Scantling scored twice last week against the Atlanta Falcons -- on catches of 40 yards and 2 yards that helped the Saints to a 20-17 win.
