Courtnall Skosan grabbed four tries in the Lions seven-try, 44-14 demolition of the Queensland Reds in Johannesburg.
In a very poor defensive display from the Reds, they missed a total of 31 tackles, and had Quade Cooper sent off six minutes after the interval, by which time the Lions had taken a 20-0 lead.
The Lions lead 15-0 at half-time with Elton Jantjies converting Skosan's 18th minute try. Jantjies added a penalty just after the half hour before Jaco Kriel touched down a minute before the break as the South African side looked comfortable.
Six minutes in the second half, the game was over as a contest. The Reds' Eto Nabuli was sin-binned for not releasing and a minute after Rohan Janse van Rensburg extended the Lions lead with the opening try of the half, Cooper saw red for a high tackle on van Rensburg.
The Springbok attacked the line but was put to ground by Cooper's left arm making contact around his neck.
Malcolm Marx touched down with a half hour to play before Skosan completed his hat-trick with two tries in three minutes in the final quarter.
The Reds got a brace of consolation tries through Duncan Paia'aua and Taniela Tupou, with Skosan's fourth sandwiched in between.
