The Bottom 10 inspirational thought of the week:
Whoa, we're half way there
Whoa-oh, livin' on a prayer
Take my hand and we'll make it I swear
Whoa-oh, livin' on a prayer
-- "Livin' On A Prayer," Bon Jovi
Bon Jovi announced it will perform Nov. 9 at the 20th anniversary celebration of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Amazingly, four Bottom 10 members knocked down the wall of ineptitude last week. Illinois stunned Michigan 38-13, and Florida International upset Louisiana-Lafayette 20-17 in overtime. North Texas blasted Western Kentucky 68-49 and Miami (Ohio) won the first game of the Michael Haywood era by outlasting Toledo, 31-24.
Thus, the Illini, not-so-Mean Green, Golden Panthers and RedHawks will be given a reprieve this week. Welcome Hawaii, San Jose State, Washington State and, of course, the Wolverines to the Bottom 10.
Like Bon Jovi, which releases its new album, "The Circle," on Nov. 10, the Bottom 10 knows all about circling the wagons after yet another loss.
Four Bottom 10 teams -- Eastern Michigan, New Mexico, Rice and Western Kentucky -- still haven't won this season. Akron and San Jose State still haven't beaten a Football Bowl Subdivision foe.
Hawaii's only FBS victory came against fellow Bottom 10 member Washington State. The Warriors carry a six-game losing streak into Saturday's home game against Utah State, this week's Pillow Fight of the Week.
With apologies to Steve Harvey and Bon Jovi, here's this week's Bottom 10:
