MADRID, Jan 7 - Sporting Gijon have agreed to sell
midfielder Michel to Birmingham City pending a medical, the La
Liga side said on their website (www.realsporting.com) on
Thursday.
Sporting did not provide any financial details but the Marca
sports daily and other Spanish media reported a transfer fee of
3.3 million euros ($4.73 million) plus a further 10 percent if
the English Premier League club decided to sell Michel on.
Birmingham manager Alex McLeish has been targeting the
24-year-old for more than a year and said on the English club's
website (www.bcfc.com) on Thursday he had made enquiries about
signing several other players.
