CLARKESVILLE, Tenn. -- B.J. Jenkins scored 14 points and Murray State beat Austin Peay 69-53 on Saturday night to remain undefeated in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Leading 53-51 with 5:17 to play, the Racers closed the game on a 16-2 run. Jenkins scored nine points during that stretch. Isacc Miles added 12 points and Isaiah Canaan had 11 for the Racers ( 13-3, 5-0), who won their fourth straight game.
Solid shooting and defense made the difference for the Racers, who made 22 of 28 free throws (78.6 percent) and shot 47.7 percent (21 of 44) from the field. The Racers also got 10 points off 17 Austin Peay turnovers.
The Governors, meanwhile, shot only 33.3 percent (13 of 39) from the field.
Wes Channels scored 14 points to lead the Governors (9-9, 3-3), who lost for the fourth time in the past five games. Anthony Campbell added 12 pints, and John Fraley and Caleb Brown each scored 10.
