GLASGOW, Sept 17 - Rangers slipped further behind
in the Scottish Premier League (SPL) with a 2-1 defeat at
Hibernian on Sunday thanks to a double from Chris Killen who was
sent off later in the game.
Hibs took the lead after just eight minutes when New
Zealander Killen hit a magnificent 14-metre header into the top
right-hand corner of the net from Michael Stewart's free kick.
Rangers levelled through Slovakian striker Filip Sebo who
latched on to Chris Burke's teasing cross from the right and
powered a downward header past Polish keeper Zibby Malkowski
from 10 metres in 65 minutes.
Killen scored the winner with nine minutes left as he
powered another header high into the net from six metres. He was
sent off soon afterwards for a second booking when he fouled
keeper McGregor at a high ball then clashed with Rangers
defender Julien Rodriguez.
In stoppage time Phil Bardsley was also dismissed for
picking up a second yellow for failing to retreat at a corner.
Rangers now trail champions Celtic by four points after
seven games. Celtic top the SPL with 16 points after their 1-0
home win over Dunfermline on Saturday.
Motherwell and Hearts are also playing on Sunday.
