PRIME-TIME PLAYERS

JAMES MARTIN

As a freshman last year, Martin ran a blistering
15:56 at the state meet, good enough for second
place. He'll be one of the favorites to take the crown
this season.

DREW SHIELDS

Shields came in fifth at the state meet last year, running
a time of 16:04 to lead Fishers to a surprising
team title. He'll try to help the Tigers defend this
year while seeking an individual title as well.

KAITLYN LOVE

Love's run of 18:57 at the state meet last year paced
the Shamrocks and helped Westfield finish first as a
team. She came in eighth overall, and she should
push toward the front this season.

MEGAN RANEGAR

The fastest returning runner from last year's state
meet, Ranegar will enter as a favorite this season.
She finished second overall in 2007 with a time of
18:38.

COACH'S TAKE

AN AREA COACH ON BAHLEIBI ZEINASELLASSIE:

"I've only seen him once this season, but he's for
real. He and his brother are both excellent. They
are tough, 'Tough' with a capital T. They don't lose
any speed from beginning to end. I expect both
of them to make an impact at states."
