KARACHI, Dec 14 - Former Pakistan captain Younus
Khan began a coaching course at the national academy in Lahore
on Monday after last month asking for a break from playing
international cricket.
"Younis had informed us that he wanted to attend the coaches
course and we saw no reason to not give him permission,"
Pakistan Cricket Board media manager Nadeem Sarwar told Reuters.
The course's chief instructor Shahid Aslam said this was the
first instance he knew of a playing member of the Pakistan team
attending the level one course, and added that Younus would
attend the full five days.
Younus did not make himself available for the current test
tour to New Zealand and the one to Australia which starts on
Dec. 19. Mohammad Yousuf was made captain for the two tours.
