Jamshedpur FC 1-5 Chennaiyin FC
Jamshedpur FC have now conceded 10 goals in their last two ISL games, after a 5-1 defeat to Chennaiyin FC at home on Monday evening. The match was almost a no-contest right from the off, as Chennaiyin scored three times within the opening 23 minutes - through goals from Irfan Yadwad, Conor Shields, and an own goal from Pratik Chaudhari.
Wilmar Jordan Gil and Lukas Brambilla added to those goals in the second half, before Javi Hernandez pulled a consolation goal back for the hosts with a late penalty.
Jamshedpur, though, will have Stephen Eze back from suspension in the heart of their defence for their next game, which Khalid Jamil would hope will be the fix for his side to stop leaking goals at the alarming rate in which they have done this past week.
Mumbai City 4 - 2 Kerala Blasters
(Karelis 9', 55' (P), Rodrigues 75', Chhangte 90' (P); Jimenez 57' (P), Peprah (72')
A chaotic affair saw defending ISL champs Mumbai City take their first win at home this season with a 4-2 win over the Kerala Blasters. The first half was a relatively sedate affair after Nikolas Karelis tapped in Lallianzuala Chhangte's neat little ball across the face of goal early on. But in the second half it really came to life - with two quick penalties at either end (both of which were contentious) livening things up.
Kwame Peprah was adjudged to have handled the ball first, and Karelis slotted home the pen, before Peprah was then adjudged to have been pulled down in the Mumbai box. Jesus Jimenez made no mistake as 1-0 became 2-1 in two minutes. Peprah then pulled the score level with a good finish but was given a second yellow for taking his shirt off in celebration. Mumbai leaned on the man advantage and first Nathan Rodrigues scored a superb goal to make it three before Jeremy Manzorro was tripped in the box and Chhangte stepped up to score his first of the season.
NorthEast United 3-2 Odisha FC
(Alaeddine Ajaraie 12', 40', Gullermo Fernandez 71' - Hugo Boumous 60', Diego Mauricio 83')
NorthEast United made it two wins in a row, as Alaeddine Ajaraie took his goal tally for this ISL season up to 8, in a 3-2 win over Odisha FC in Guwahati. In the first half, Juan Pedro Benali's side compeltely outplayed the visitors, and were worthy 2-0 leaders at half-time, with Ajaraie scoring both - the first a superb strike from long range.
Hugo Boumous halved the deficit in the 60th minute, but Guillermo Fernandez soon put NorthEast 3-1 up. Diego Mauricio scored a superb free-kick to set up a grand-stand finish, and Odisha could've had the equaliser too, but for a miraculous save from Gurmeet Singh to deny Boumous in stoppage time.
FC Goa 3-0 Bengaluru FC
(Armando Sadiku 63', Brison Fernandes 72', Dejan Drazic 90+3)
FC Goa secured a commanding 3-0 victory to end Bengaluru FC's unbeaten run in the league at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Saturday.
Goals from Armando Sadiku, Brison Fernandes, and Dejan Drazic sealed Goa's first home win of the season and lifting themselves to fifth place in the standings with nine points from seven matches.
After a goalless first half, the breakthrough came in the 63rd minute when Yasir found Sadiku unmarked at the far post. The Albanian striker made no mistake in guiding the ball into the net, aided by a deflection.
Goa then doubled their advantage in the 72nd minute through Brison Fernandes. A momentary lapse by Gurpreet allowed Sadiku to intercept a pass and nudge it towards the youngster, who calmly lobbed the ball over goalkeeper. In stoppage time, Drazic added a third goal, intercepting a ball in midfield, he combined with Iker Guarrotxena before slotting home at the near post.
Bengaluru remain on top despite the loss with 16 points from their seven matches.
Punjab FC 3 - 2 Chennaiyin FC
(Luka Majcen 46' 48', Asmir Suljic 70' - Wilmar Jordan Gil 30', 90'+9')
Panagiotis Dilmperis' Punjab FC returned to winning ways with a superb 3-2 win at home to Chennaiyin FC. The hosts climbed to third in the table, with Owen Coyle's CFC remaining in the last playoff spot.
It was Chennaiyin who surprised Punjab with the opening goal, as Wilmar Jordan Gil ran onto a superb defence splitting pass from Lukas Brambilla and finished with aplomb on the half hour mark. Punjab then equalized just 37 seconds into the second half, as Luka Majcen was found by a clever through ball from Filip Mrzljak and angled a low drive across goal into the bottom corner.
The comeback was complete two minutes later as Pulga Vidal ran into the box from the right and found Majcen with a low cross, as the striker opened his body up and angled a first-time finish into the bottom corner. Punjab made certain of the points in the 70th minute, as Mushaga Bakenga controlled a long ball forward, before squaring it to an unmarked Asmir Suljic in the box, and he made no mistake, making it 3-1 to the hosts. Jordan Gil scored a late consolation in injury time, as a cross was spilled into his path and he scrambled it home. It mattered not, as Punjab held on to the win.
Hyderabad 0 - 2 Mohun Bagan
(Manvir 37', Bose 56')
A resurgent Hyderabad FC ran into the might of Mohun Bagan in a match that saw the defending league shield winners run out 2-0 winners. Manvir Singh rounded Hyderabad keeper Lalbiakhlua Jongte after being put through one-on-one by a superb Anirudh Thapa pass to open the scoring before Subhasish Bose ghosted in at the far post to nod home a sensational Greg Stewart freekick to make it two.
Hyderabad continued to push for a goal back, but ran into an inspired Vishal Kaith and a disciplined Bagan back-line. Lenny Rodrigues's long ranger that kissed the bar was as close as they would come, though, as Bagan closed out the match to move second in the table, three points behind Bengaluru FC. Hyderabad remain 11th.
