The report on all matches from matchweek 12 is here.
Here are the details for matchweek 13 of ISL 2024-25 with the latest match report coming first:
East Bengal 1-0 Jamshedpur FC
(Dimitrios Diamantakos 60')
East Bengal made it four wins in their last five ISL games, as Dimitrios Diamantakos scored the solitary goal in the game to give the Kolkata side a 1-0 win over Jamshedpur FC, whose momentum after two successive wins has now been halted.
East Bengal deserved the result, they had more shots, more of them on target, and generally looked the better attacking side, even forcing Jamshedpur goalkeeper Albino Gomes into a couple of excellent saves. Oscar Bruzon's side are now up to 10th in the ISL standings, leapfrogging the Kerala Blasters.
Mumbai City FC 1-0 Chennaiyin FC
(Nikos Karelis 8')
Mumbai City FC climbed into the top four of the ISL with a 1-0 win over Chennaiyin FC at the Mumbai Football Arena on Saturday evening. Nikos Karelis scored the only goal of the game early on, after Chennaiyin failed to clear a scuffed shot from Yoell van Nieff.
It was eventually a game ridden with errors, as neither team managed to really create a stranglehold in the final third. Daniel Chima Chukwu thought he'd equalised for Chennaiyin right before half-time but was correctly adjudged offside. Chennaiyin in the second half huffed and puffed, but didn't manage a goal, and things only got worse, as their captain and leading centre-back Ryan Edwards picked up a fourth yellow card of the season, to be suspended for their next game - a clash against their big rivals Bengaluru FC.
FC Goa 2 - 1 Mohun Bagan
(Brison Fernandes 12', 68'; Dimi Petratos 55' (P))
A Brison Fernandes brace saw FC Goa stun league leaders Mohun Bagan and make things tighter at the top of the table. Bagan, who had won seven and drawn one of their last eight, are still top with 26 points in twelve but Bengaluru with 24 in second and now Goa with 22 points in third are within touching distance.
The game started with Goa on the front foot, and Brison scored the opener with a combination of direct play and massive slice of fortune as his shot at goal looped off a Bagan leg and completely befuddled Vishal Kaith. A soft penalty saw Dimi Petratos bury an equaliser, but Brison was on hand again to win the game just a few minutes later with a superbly timed run and a diving header.
East Bengal 4 - 2 Punjab FC
(Maher 46;, Vishnu 54', Suresh (OG) 60', David 67'; Suljic 21', Vidal 39')
A game of two halves at the Salt Lake saw East Bengal come from 0-2 down to beat high flying Punjab 4-2. It was a remarkable turnaround considering Punjab's dominance in the first half, where Ezequiel Vidal ran the show. He created the opener for Asmir Suljic before adding a second with a neat finish. EB started the second half with some intent and Hijazi Maher got a goal back inside the first minute with a commanding header off a Cleiton Silva ball. The on-fire PV Vishnu added a second before Nandakumar Sekar's ball in was turned into his own goal by Suresh Nongmeikapam. Inside the hour, they had taken the lead. Four minutes after that OG, a bad tackle from Khaiminthang Lhungfim saw him get a second yellow and from then on EB amped up the pressure. It told within three minutes with centr-forward David Lalhlansanga finishing neatly off a Vishnu assist to make it 4-2, and that's how it remained.
Punjab remain in fifth and will have a lot of introspection to do after that second half collapse. EB, meanwhile, remain 11th, but with momentum firmly on their side.
