Linus Ullmark robs Penguins with save (0:36)

Linus Ullmark makes big-time save vs. Penguins (0:36)

Coming into the homestretch of the NHL season, the future odds for the Stanley Cup are beginning to tighten. A week ago, the top 10 favorites were between +290 and 35-1, and now that range is between +300 and 20-1.

One of the biggest improvers over that time was the Ottawa Senators, who went from 35-1 to 20-1 amid an impressive run that has them in the playoff conversation. The Pittsburgh Penguins, who are listed as one of the largest liabilities with BetMGM, also made a big move up from 50-1 to 30-1.

On the other end of the spectrum, the Detroit Red Wings had a tough week, moving from 60-1 to 90-1 for the Cup. They are now +150 to make the playoffs among a crowded Eastern Conference bubble that includes the New York Islanders (-150), Boston Bruins (-225) and Senators (-220).

The Buffalo Sabres, +700 to win the Eastern Conference, sit third in the latest ESPN NHL Power Rankings. The Nashville Predators, who have played their way back into playoff contention (+125), owe much of their recent success to Filip Forsberg, currently the 19th-ranked player in ESPN Fantasy Hockey.
