Late on Sunday afternoon, it was announced the AFL was postponing its season due to new coronavirus measures put in place by federal and state governments.
The decision, while not a major surprise due to the postponements and cancellations of numerous sporting leagues and competitions around the world, still shocked many AFL players and clubs.
Here's what they had to say on social media.
Well it was fun while it lasted. Hope y'all enjoyed the players getting out there this week. Everyone stay safe and hopefully we can kick off the restart of the season with a massive game between @CollingwoodFC and @Richmond_FC
