Who will finish top? Will the Cats miss the double chance? And who plays finals out of St Kilda, Melbourne, Collingwood, Essendon and the Western Bulldogs?
After assessing the remaining fixtures for each side, below is our final predicted ladder.
1. Port Adelaide
Current position: 1
Win-Loss: 11-3
Remaining games (wins bolded): North Melbourne (Metricon Oval), Essendon (Adelaide Oval), Collingwood (TBA)
Tipping analysis: Port are in a tight battle with Brisbane, West Coast, Richmond and Geelong to see who finishes on top spot, and we think the Power are good enough to finish with three-straight wins after this round's bye.
2. Brisbane
Current position: 3
Win-Loss: 10-3
Remaining games (wins bolded): Collingwood (Gabba), Gold Coast (Gabba), Sydney (Cazaly's Stadium), Carlton (TBA)
Tipping analysis: Chris Fagan's young side has a kind run home and will start favourite in all four matches. Tippers shouldn't be looking to get too adventurous when the Lions are playing, especially since they are a realistic chance of securing the minor premiership.
3. West Coast
Current position: 5
Win-Loss: 9-4
Remaining games (wins bolded): Essendon (Gabba), Western Bulldogs (Metricon Stadium), St Kilda (Gabba), North Melbourne (TBA)
Tipping analysis: We're tipping the Eagles to storm home despite their struggles in Queensland so far this season. The next three games are all tricky but if West Coast are to be legit premiership chances, they must win them all, as well as their final home-and-away clash against North Melbourne.
4. Richmond
Current position: 4
Win-Loss: 9-4-1
Remaining games (wins bolded): Fremantle (Metricon Stadium), Geelong (Metricon Stadium), Adelaide (TBA)
Tipping analysis: It's easy to pencil in wins against Fremantle and Adelaide, but the huge clash on the horizon is the match-up against Geelong. Whoever wins that is in the box seat to gain an all-important top-four finish, with the loser possibly facing an elimination final. The Tigers in a nailbiter!
5. Geelong
Current position: 2
Win-Loss: 10-4
Remaining games (wins bolded): Essendon (Gabba), Richmond (Metricon Stadium), Sydney (TBA)
Tipping analysis: Is this the year the Cats go all the way? Chris Scott's side is playing great football and is a serious premiership chance. Geelong should easily account for the Bombers and Swans, but the Round 17 clash against the Tigers will be the one to watch. A win could be the difference between a top-two finish and potentially missing the double chance.
6. Greater Western Sydney
Current position: 9
Win-Loss: 7-6
Remaining games (wins bolded): Carlton (Metricon Stadium), Adelaide (Adelaide Oval), Melbourne (Gabba), St Kilda (TBA)
Tipping analysis: They are one of the most frustrating sides but even the biggest Giants cynic would find it hard to have them missing the eight with this run home. There's a few tests in here but Leon Cameron's men will start favourites in all of them and should move into the top eight ahead of finals.
7. Melbourne
Current position: 8
Win-Loss: 7-6
Remaining games (wins bolded): Sydney (Cazaly's Stadium), Fremantle (Cazaly's Stadium), GWS (Gabba), Essendon (TBA)
Tipping analysis: The Dees' finals fortunes are in their own hands and we're tipping them to make it. They should be too good for the Swans and Dockers and then Simon Goodwin's men need to notch at least one win against the Giants or Dons. A final-round win over Essendon should have them playing finals.
8. Collingwood
Current position: 6
Win-Loss: 8-5-1
Remaining games (wins bolded): Brisbane (Gabba), Gold Coast (Gabba), Port Adelaide (TBA)
Tipping analysis: The Pies have been ravaged by injuries in 2020 and will welcome back a host of stars -- including Adam Treloar and Jordan De Goey -- in the final rounds. Expect them to play good football and secure a finals berth. If you're looking to gain a point in the final round, backing the Pies to beat ladder-leaders Port could be the way to go, although we're tipping the Power, just.
9. St Kilda
Current position: 7
Win-Loss: 8-6
Remaining games (wins bolded): Hawthorn (Metricon Stadium), West Coast (Gabba), GWS (TBA)
Tipping analysis: The Saints are set for finals heartbreak despite a barnstorming run in the early part of this year. They have a bye this round and then should account for the Hawks, but we see them stumbling against the Eagles and Giants to miss out on finals - possibly on percentage ... ouch.
10. Western Bulldogs
Current position: 10
Win-Loss: 7-7
Remaining games (wins bolded): West Coast (Metricon Stadium), Hawthorn (Adelaide Oval), Fremantle (TBA)
Tipping analysis: This season's biggest enigmas. Will the real Western Bulldogs please stand up? After a bye this round, the clash against West Coast will be season-defining for the Dogs ... if they win that, they should sneak in as they've got two winnable games to finish. Unfortunately for Bulldogs fans, we think they'll lose to the Eagles and finish just outside the top eight.
11. Carlton
Current position: 12
Win-Loss: 6-7
Remaining games (wins bolded): GWS (Metricon Stadium), Sydney (Metricon Stadium), Adelaide (Metricon Stadium), Brisbane (TBA)
Tipping analysis: Blues fans will know this week's game against the Giants is an absolute must-win. If they can pinch it, they will like their chances of making it three straight victories against the Swans and Crows. Still, it's hard to see them upsetting the Lions in the final round.
12. Gold Coast
Current position: 13
Win-Loss: 5-8-1
Remaining games (wins bolded): Brisbane (Gabba), Collingwood (Gabba), Hawthorn (TBA)
Tipping analysis: The young Suns should be proud of what they have achieved in 2020, despite likely missing finals again. Wins will be tough to find in the next two weeks but Stuart Dew's side should finish the season with a bang when they play the Hawks.
13. Essendon
Current position: 11
Win-Loss: 6-6-1
Remaining games (wins bolded): West Coast (Gabba), Geelong (Gabba), Port Adelaide (Adelaide Oval), Melbourne (TBA)
Tipping analysis: Draws don't get much tougher than what the Bombers have here to finish season 2020. They never appeared like a true finals side and will likely slip further down the ladder in the closing rounds. You'd be a very brave tipper to back the Dons in any remaining game here.
14. Fremantle
Current position: 14
Win-Loss: 5-8
Remaining games (wins bolded): Richmond (Metricon Stadium), Melbourne (Cazaly's Stadium), North Melbourne (Metricon Stadium), Western Bulldogs (TBA)
Tipping analysis: Justin Longmuir can be pretty pleased with the job he's done in his first season at the Dockers. A young and exciting midfield will take them far in the coming seasons but as far as 2020 goes, they're unlikely to be singing 'heave-ho' too much more. Fremantle should beat the struggling Roos and that's about all, you'd think.
15. Hawthorn
Current position: 15
Win-Loss: 4-9
Remaining games (wins bolded): Adelaide (Adelaide Oval), St Kilda (Metricon Stadium), Western Bulldogs (Adelaide Oval), Gold Coast (TBA)
Tipping analysis: There will be no late-season charge for the Hawks, with Alastair Clarkson's men set for their lowest finishing position since 2004. The Crows clash is a genuine danger game but the Hawks should scrape by, but we don't see them notching another victory against finals-chasing teams in the Saints, Dogs and Suns.
16. Sydney
Current position: 16
Win-Loss: 4-9
Remaining games (wins bolded): Melbourne (Cazaly's Stadium), Carlton (Metricon Stadium), Brisbane (Cazaly's Stadium), Geelong (TBA)
Tipping analysis: It's been a funny old year for the Swans, with plenty of positives despite their lowly position on the table. They're good enough to push the Dees and Carlton (and upset wins in those games aren't beyond the realms of possibility) but we're thinking they don't taste victory again in 2020.
17. North Melbourne
Current position: 17
Win-Loss: 3-11
Remaining games (wins bolded): Port Adelaide (Metricon Stadium), Fremantle (Metricon Stadium), West Coast (TBA)
Tipping analysis: The end of the season can't come quickly enough for the Roos. After the bye, Rhyce Shaw's injury-depleted squad faces two of the league's flag fancies in Port Adelaide and West Coast, which could get ugly for North. Freo is winnable but we can't see the Dockers coughing that one up.
18. Adelaide
Current position: 18
Win-Loss: 0-13
Remaining games (wins bolded): Hawthorn (Adelaide Oval), GWS (Adelaide Oval), Carlton (Metricon Stadium), Richmond (TBA)
Tipping analysis: The Crows are yet to taste victory in 2020 and although a winless season is highly unlikely historically, it's difficult to see them pinching any of these games. If you do fancy backing Adelaide, look to do so either this week against the struggling Hawks or in the penultimate round when they face a Carlton side that will likely be out of finals contention.
