No women's singles player has dominated the World Championships like PV Sindhu, who beat Nozomi Okuhara in straight games to clinch her maiden Worlds gold in Basel, Switzerland on Sunday. ESPN brings you all the records that she broke over the last week.

PV Sindhu is the first Indian to win gold at the World Championships. India had won three silvers and six bronzes at the tournament prior to this.
Sindhu had won silver in the 2017 and 2018 editions in addition to a bronze in 2013 and 2014, while Saina Newal won silver in 2015 as well as a bronze in 2017. Prakash Padukone (1983) and B Sai Praneeth (2019) have won bronze in the men's singles event.
India's other medal came in the women's doubles, as Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa picked up bronze in 2011.

The 14 points won by Okuhara in the final is the lowest for a losing finalist in women's singles at the Worlds since the 21-point format was adopted in 2006. The previous lowest was 20 by Wang Chen against Zhu Lin in 2007.

Sindhu has now won 21 matches at the Worlds since her debut appearance in 2013. No woman has won more singles matches at the tournament in the same duration. Three-time champion Carolina Marin is next best with 20 wins.

Nobody has won more women's singles medals at the Worlds than Sindhu. Her five medals are the joint-most with Zhang Ning. Li Lingwei is next on the list with four medals. Lin Dan, with seven medals, is the only player to have won more singles medals than Sindhu at the Worlds.

Sindhu is the fourth player to win a gold, silver and bronze medal in the women's singles event at the Worlds after Li Lingwei, Gong Ruina and Zhang Ning. Sindhu won bronze in 2013 and 2014 and silver in 2017 and 2018.

Sindhu is the third woman to reach the singles final at three consecutive Worlds after Han Aiping and Zhang Ning. Overall, she is the sixth woman to reach three worlds finals. Li Lingwei, Han Aiping, Zhang Ning, Xie Xingfang and Carolina Marin are the others to achieve this feat.

She has defeated Wang Yihan, Wang Shixian (x2), Li Xuerui, Sun Yu and Chen Yufei (x2) for those seven wins. What makes that record even more impressive is that all those women have won medals at the Worlds except Sun, who was the fifth seed when Sindhu defeated her.

Sindhu is the first player in history to be a reigning women's singles medallist at the Olympics, World Championships, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games at the same time. She won silver at the 2016 Rio Olympics, 2018 Asian Games and 2018 Commonwealth Games.
