The national team held its first practice for the fourth window of the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers at the Meralco Gym on Monday.
Attendance was complete for the 16-man pool, which interim coach Yeng Guiao will use to assemble the Gilas team that will lock horns with Iran and Qatar this month.
San Miguel stars Alex Cabagnot and Marcio Lassiter, as well as Ginebra stars Scottie Thompson and Greg Slaughter, were among the players at practice.
Slaughter, who played for the original Gilas squad years ago alongside Lassiter, even wore his old jersey, eliciting nostalgia among fans and scribes who watched the training session supervised by Guiao.
Also in attendance were players who represented the country in the recently-concluded 18th Asian Games, such as Christian Standhardinger, Stanley Pringle, Beau Belga, Raymond Almazan, Poy Erram, Paul Lee, Asi Taulava and Gabe Norwood.
Completing the cast were Ian Sangalang, Japeth Aguilar, Allein Maliksi and Matthew Wright.
Gilas will face Iran in Tehran on September 13 before taking on Qatar four days later behind closed doors at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
