Something other than an early commitment from a prospect has become a rarity, but ESPN 300 offensive lineman Landon Dickerson said he doesn’t mind being part of the minority.

Dickerson, the No. 101-ranked prospect in the country, has yet to make his commitment despite almost feeling like the time was right a few times.

“For me it’s been about really wanting to find the best place for me," Dickerson said. "It has been one of those things that I kind of saw it first-hand that I really liked a few places in the beginning. I didn’t want to jump the gun and I waited and now I’ve seen other places that I like a little better, so it’s just about finding the best place.”

Dickerson has plenty of time to figure that out and he plans to visit Auburn, Alabama and Georgia after already taking a visit to Florida State. He plans to keep one official visit in his pocket in case a new school comes up, or if he figures out a new school he would like to see.

For now, Dickerson says he's just looking forward to his experience at the Under Armour All-America game as he received his honorary jersey on Wednesday.

“This has always been a dream for me and I know thousands of other people, too,” he said. “Being one of the few selected, that’s a very high honor.”

Q&A with Landon Dickerson:

What players are you looking forward to competing with or against at the UA All America game?

I’m just looking forward to the experience overall, really.

If you could start a team with any other player in your class, who would it be?

Jarrett Guarantano. I met him out in Oregon, I didn’t talk to him too long, but I talked to him and he seemed like a really good kid. I liked him when I talked to him.

What was your earliest football memory?

I remember back in pee-wee league, four or five years old, that was probably my best memories. That’s when everybody played every position. My first year we went undefeated. I think winning all those games, that really kind of pumped me up.

What player did you watch as a kid?

I would say my favorite guy was Lawrence Taylor. It was back in the day but he’s kind of been someone I liked. We had a friend who was the defensive coordinator at the Giants, so we started watching the Giants. That was in 2010, so I don’t know why I watched Lawrence Taylor, though.

If you could take on any pro in their sport, who would it be?

I think it would be fun to go against Usain Bolt in a 100 meter sprint. I wouldn’t say it would be close, but I could probably keep it within 15 or 20 yards.

Why do you wear your number (54)?

Pretty much because of Lawrence Taylor. I’ve had it since freshman year. I transferred last year and a senior wore it, so I had to wear 55. Now I wear 54.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

I did gymnastics for a long time in my younger years. I think the best part about it is I’ve kept all my flexibility. Sometimes, you can tell people you can do a full split and they don’t believe you and you just do it. The backstory is that I used to do karate and I did gymnastics with some of my karate friends. I did it from 6 to 11. The problem is once you start to get tall, gymnastics is not the sport for oyu. I was working on a roundoff back handspring, back full. I thought for the longest time I was a gymnast until I started to grow tall.
