The New York Knicks are expected to sign Langston Galloway to a 10-day contract on Wednesday, according to league sources.
Galloway has impressed the Knicks during his stint with their D-League team, the Westchester Knicks, for whom the former St. Joseph’s standout is averaging 16.5 points on 44.7 percent shooting, 5.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.7 steals in 36.8 minutes per game.
The Knicks are expected to create a roster spot for Galloway once they waive Lou Amundson and Alex Kirks, whom they acquired in the three-team trade that sent J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert to Cleveland. The Knicks are also considering waiving Lance Thomas, who was also acquired in the trade, according to league sources.
It is unclear at this point who the Knicks will sign to fill their other open roster spots.
Galloway was on the Knicks’ summer league team and played with the team in training camp.
Real GM first reported his signing.
