Jake Paul, the popular YouTuber turned boxer, returns to the ring to face Ben Askren, a former UFC welterweight and One Championship and Bellator champion. This will be Askren's professional boxing debut.
The cruiserweight bout, scheduled for eight rounds, is the main event of a Triller Fight Club card at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia (Sat, 9 p.m. ET).
Paul (2-0, 2 KOs), 24, earned a first-round TKO victory over fellow YouTuber Ali Eson Gib in January 2020 and then dispatched former NBA star Nate Robinson with a brutal one punch KO in the second round of their fight in November. Earlier this week he was accused by Justine Paradise of forcing her into a sex act without consent. Paul has said those allegations are false.
Askren, who retired from MMA in 2019, is a former decorated amateur wrestler. He won the Bellator welterweight title with a decision victory over Lyman Good in 2010 and defended the belt four times until vacating in 2013. Askren moved to One in 2014 and won the welterweight championship in that organization and defended the title four times before signing with the UFC.
