National signing day is here once again. While more than 80% of the top prospects in the ESPN 300 inked their national letters of intent during December's early signing period, there has been some movement so far.
Three five-star prospects ranked in the top 10 entered the late signing period uncommitted. The first domino fell when Shemar Stewart, the No. 6 prospect in the class, signed with Texas A&M. Stewart gives the Aggies four five-star prospects and is the seventh top-30 prospect to sign with Jimbo Fisher.
Fisher wasn't able to get LB Harold Perkins to recommit, though. As the fourth-ranked prospect in the class, Perkins committed to Texas A&M during the Under Armour All-America Game but decommitted later in January, then signed with Brian Kelly and LSU.
The third five-star prospect, OL Devon Campbell, chose to sign with Texas, picking the Longhorns over Oklahoma.
Miami and Oregon also climbed up the rankings when each program landed a four-star running back. Mario Cristobal landed TreVonte' Citizen, while Jordan James decommitted from Georgia to join Dan Lanning at Oregon.
Defensive tackle Christen Miller, the No. 139-ranked prospect in the 2022 class, is staying close to home by signing with Georgia.
ESPN 300 defensive lineman Caden Story went from being an Auburn Tiger to a Clemson Tiger when he flipped his commitment and signed with Dabo Swinney's squad on Wednesday.

The Aggies signed not only their first No. 1 overall class in the ESPN 300 era, but one of the strongest overall during this period. Their first key pickup was Malick Sylla, an in-state defensive end with a good first step and nice upside. They have since added a pair of DLs with impact ability in five-stars Nolen and Gabe Brownlow-Dindy. Nolen is an explosive and powerful competitor, and Brownlow-Dindy is an agile and versatile big man. Adding those two to a talented D-line group from the 2021 cycle, led by five-star Shemar Turner, can give Texas A&M one of the most formidable defensive fronts in college football. The Aggies also added a high school teammate of Sylla's in ESPN 300 defender Bobby Taylor, a lengthy and quick-footed cornerback. Top-three safety Bryce Anderson was a big win over Texas on the recruiting trail and gives the Aggies a versatile, speedy defensive back. They have their quarterback in Conner Weigman, a powerful thrower with good accuracy, and added one of the top playmakers in the class in the speedy five-star WR Stewart.
