COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Johnny Football was back in College Station, serving as honorary captain for No. 19 Texas A&M's 26-10 loss to Auburn.
The 2012 Heisman Trophy winner and Cleveland quarterback, Johnny Manziel had the weekend off after the Browns lost to the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night in his fourth career start.
Manziel was on the sidelines chatting with freshman quarterback Kyler Murray and offensive coordinator Jake Spavital before the game. Just before the teams came on the field, Manziel was introduced as the honorary captain and given a game ball. He smiled and waved to the crowd when his name was announced and was greeted with a rousing ovation.
Manziel is still a beloved figure in College Station after throwing for more than 7,820 yards and 63 touchdowns and running for 2,169 yards and 30 more scores in just two seasons.
