It's Rahul Dravid's 233 and 72* against Rishabh Pant's 89*in the final of our fan voting exercise to decide the greatest Indian Test performance in Australia this century. Vote here.

6:52pm Wow. Just wow. If you (like me) ran out of superlatives to describe this Indian innings, you'd be forgiven. Abhishek and Samson got the show on the road and gave a glimpse of what could happen. But when Samson and Tilak's charge began, it exceeded all of those expectations, which, in itself, was an achievement. Both of them made a mockery of South Africa's plans, accessed almost every region that could be accessed, and cleared the fence with ease and whenever they wanted to. Both finished with unbeaten tons - Tilak getting to his second consecutive hundred, while Sanju broke a run of two ducks to notch up his third T20I ton.

Not a lot to write home about for South Africa. They were pounded, pummeled and pulverized into submission. Everything they threw at India, came back at them with interest (and some), and a few of their fielders and bowlers might have pulled into the dressing room with sore necks. Jansen was the least expensive, going at 10.5 runs per over, but that was about it.

Not sure if someone from their dressing room will say that India are 15 (or 17 in this case, considering 300 seemed possible) short. But if South Africa indeed do something similar to what they did all those years against Australia, we will have witnessed a truly special performance. Join us in a bit for the chase!

Jansen to Samson, 1 run, very full on middle and leg. Samson gives himself room and drives it towards deep cover. Tilak was interested in pinching the second but Samson wasn't as inclined. India finish with 283-1, and no, this is not book cricket!

Jansen to Samson, no run, dug into the track on middle and leg. Samson seems to take his eyes off it slightly and then proceeds to swing too early. Only a fresh-air swipe

Jansen to Samson, SIX, oh my days - that is a shot and a half! Back of a length outside off. Samson uses the angle from left-arm-around, stands up tall on his toes and crunches it over the wide long off fence. Not sure many in the world can play that stroke!

Jansen to Tilak Varma, 1 run, another top yorker outside off. Tilak squeezes it out towards extra cover and India get just a single
19.2
4
Jansen to Tilak Varma, FOUR, picked up gorgeously! Misses the yorker by a smidgen, and that is all Tilak needs. Snaps his wrists into the stroke and whips it away between deep mid wicket and deep square leg!

Jansen to Samson, 1 run, right up in the blockhole on middle and off. Samson can only chalk it down the ground to long on

300 still on the cards (mathematically). Jansen to bowl the last. How far can India stretch this score?

Sipamla to Tilak Varma, FOUR, four to end the over - this is awesome batting! Full outside off, trying to hide it outside the arc. Tilak, though, is too good a batter to be contained by it. Steps across, gets down low and sweeps it past square leg!

This is the highest team total at the Wanderers in T20I cricket

18.5
6
Sipamla to Tilak Varma, SIX, watch out in the stands! Slower ball that pitches right in the slot outside off. Tilak swings through the line and demolishes it over long off!
