Job done by India today in very effective fashion. They win by 246 runs and go 1-0 up in the series. It's their second-biggest win over England in terms of runs. Cook's wicket late last night was a body-blow for England and then Root's dismissal today was the final key blow. They fought hard, but that awful session with the bat on the second day has cost them. And in this innings they lost all ten wickets for 83 - something about collapses for 80-odd runs at the moment. Anderson's king pair the first for England since 1906!

Ravi Ashwin, speaking to TV, has praised Jayant's debut. Jayant, himself, says there were nerves when he started. "It was a tricky pitch to bowl on, you had to change your pace," Ashwin says.

Ev: "Gnasher, will Jayant Yadav begin the next Test on a hattrick?" No, it doesn't carry over to the next match. Aditya: "Wow! Not a bad debut at all for Jayant! scored 62 runs and took 4 wickets in the 23 overs he has bowled!"

Will bring you the presentations shortly...Mani J: "Oh.. Sid, the genius.. predicted a match at Day 1 and the result... yes, it's the same.. 450,250,200, 150''' Don't let it go to his head!

Nitesh: "Although a team effort but, Kohli (167+81=248 runs) and England lost by 246 runs! What a match winner India has got!"

Alastair Cook. "It wasn't a great moment to fight so hard, so was disappointing to get out at the end. Think we saw the first day was easiest to bat, then you can see it became harder. It was a good toss to win, no doubt. From losing those five wickets on day two - you have to score first-innings runs - but from that moment we showed a lot of character and fight. We made India work very hard. We played some good cricket at stages in these first two games. We need to win a couple of games to get ourselves back in the series."

Virat Kohli is Man of the Match. "It's been a lucky ground for me and it remains a special ground, similar feel I get to Adelaide. You want to play exciting cricket because so many people come to watch. They help you through tough situations. We wanted to make sure we batted five sessions, get 450+ which is what we did, then the bowlers were always on top. Scoreboard pressure really counts. There wasn't much happening in the wicket, but the batsmen succumbed. I knew I was striking the ball well. The biggest positives are how the fast bowlers bowled and Jayant's debut. It's always priceless those contributions and it speaks volumes of his character. I'm really happy for him. For a young guy to come in and tell me the field he wants, it shows he knows what he is doing. I knew the batsmen uncomfortable. Was lovely to have five bowlers who can pick up wickets. We've been playing some really good cricket, we don't want to be complacent but don't want to be desperate, either. We respect England."

That just about wraps things up from us for this match. We'll have plenty more reaction during the afternoon and evening from George Dobell and Al Muthu. We'll also have analysis from Sourav Ganguly and Nick Compton from ESPN Match Day. But, for now, from myself and Sid Monga thanks for joining us, we are off to rest our fingers and will be back for Mohali. See you then!

J Yadav to Anderson, OUT, we have another review. This time by India. Anderson given not out as this strikes the pad. No edge involved. Perhaps not straightening quite enough. We shall see. It's hitting enough of leg stump to be three reds and that's it! Anderson bags a king pair to end the Test. Jayant closes it with two in two balls

JM Anderson lbw b J Yadav 0 (1m 1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

One wicket to go. Another for Jayant who has had a terrific debut

J Yadav to Broad, OUT, eventually he is given lbw! Sweeping at a very full delivery. Kumar Dharmsena takes his time, then raises the finger. Broad has reviewed. Doesn't look like an edge. Yeah, missed the bat. And it's smashing off stump.
