1.06pm A bit of a slowdown after the massive 191-run opening stand but Afghanistan will be happy having reached 286 for 6. The total was set up by the two youngsters, Abdul Malik and Sediqullah Atal. They weathered the early storm, rode their luck but made sure to stick around. Both batters reached their maiden fifties, and were well on course to a century before Malik threw it away giving Nyamhuri his maiden ODI wicket. Omarzai fell early but Atal hung around to smash his maiden ODI century, reaching there with a powerful hook over deep square leg. Zimbabwe did make a comeback conceding 73 runs in the last ten overs and picking four wickets. Newman Nyamhuri, playing his second game, was the standout bowler for Zimbabwe picking 3 for 53. Can the hosts chase this down? Join Srinidhi in a bit to find out.
Newman Nyamhuri: Quite happy, my first match bowling. Did my best. [On sharing the dressing room with Muzarabani ]They are quite good people. They give me a lot of ideas when I go in.
Farai Leboho: "This is a job well done by Afghanistan, however am sure they will feel they were maybe 30/40 runs short of where they could have ended."
