8.27pm New Zealand took a punt by batting first, and surely their intent might have been to get as close to 200 as possible. Essentially, they would have liked to put India under pressure in the face of a daunting task. Planning is easy. But their execution has been just terrific. It's not easy to hit boundaries easily against this Indian attack, but Colin Munro made six-hitting look effortless. Guptill, Williamson and Bruce all played cameos, which maybe increased their score by a few runs.
