8:55pm And that is all from our presentation for you today. We hope you enjoyed the wonderful cricket we were treated to today, and hope you'll join us as we call the second game for you in a few days. Good night!

Virat Kohli: Yeah it was quite special. First match of the series is important. We wanted to take the momentum of the Test win into this and when we restricted South Africa to 270 on this sort of a pitch, we were happy. Very happy for Jinx. Jinx is a top class player. We understood fast bowling was going to be a big factor in this tour. He was superb, he took on the fast bowlers. [On India's bowling] Bhuvi and Bumrah, we bank on them. Picking up one or two wickets in the top ten is what we wanted to do. And then the two wristpsinners - outstanding bowling by both of them. They are working wonderfully for the team. They're playing in South Africa for the first time. They were very brave, they were throwing it up and that's why they got wickets. As a captain, its outstanding when you have two guys who know what they want to do.

Virat Kohli is the Man of the Match.

Faf du Plessis: Just a few battle scars. Just went upstairs to get the fingers checked. One-day cricket the intensity is a lot higher. Happy to ge through the game. Feeling strong. Definitely didn't get enough, we didn't bat well enough. I reckon we were about 50-60-70 runs short. Chris had a good partnership but as a batting unit we were disappointed. When you're chasing five runs an over here, it's pretty easy. Tried everything with field placesments and tactics but Virat and Rahane played very well.

Mileend: "Kohli-Rahane partnership gives memories of Sachin-Dravid's many match winning and building partnerships, just think if Rahane gets a longer run in ODI he can be next Dravid, hes adaptive enough to be like him"

Deepak Karkala: "How accurate was Kuldeep in his assessment of the score during the Innings break? "269 is a good score. Hopefully we can chase in 45-46 overs". This is what he said!!"

8:35pm A canter for India in the end. A six-wicket win with nearly five overs to spare. South Africa's 17-game winning streak at home has ended. It wasn't a "complete performance" from India by any means, but enough players contributed at the right moments to seize this game from South Africa, who had the momentum at the start of the match. The miserly wristspin duo took five wickets between them, conceding under four per over when the medium-pacers endured a bad day. Then, Kohli and Rahane in partnership - they put on 189 - were masterful as they dismantled South Africa with strategic running before bringing out the big shots. Nicely finished in the end for India, and they now have a 1-0 lead.
