4.33pm An odd sort of scoreline this, South Africa reaching 266 for 2. Amla reached his 27th ton while Rassie van der Dussen scored 93 from 101 deliveries on debut, the pair putting on 155 after Hendricks and Amla had started things off with an opening stand of 82. But one can't help but feel that South Africa might have left a couple of runs out there, finishing as they did with eight wickets in hand. It's a slow surface, but is it that slow? South Africa were well placed at 190 for 1 with ten overs to go, but Pakistan's bowlers gave nothing away at the death and restricted them to 76 in the last ten.
"It's always nice to get some runs," says Hashim Amla. "Last year I didn't get a lot of runs in one-day cricket, so it was nice to get some. Rassie batted excellently as well. It's a tough wicket to bat on, you've got to eat a lot of dot balls up. There's a bit of turn, and we didn't feel like we could accelerate until we had got used to the surface. I think it's a good total."
Amla reckons this is a winning total on this surface. Join us in half an hour or so to see how Pakistan go about what could be a tricky chase.
Sabahat : "If Pakistan lose their openers early then it's game over. It seems like a challenging total on a slow pitch."
zia: "266/2 !!! what bizarre scorecard in modern day cricket but I think the score is par given the fragile pakistan batting against pace."
Aurangzeb: "If Fakhar fires with the bat, Pakistan could run away with this. However, if he doesn't, then this might go down to the wire as there is a lack of power hitters in the team."
