12.15pm Fine bowling performance by South Africa A, led by Paterson, who was impossible to get away and struck throughout the innings, before wrapping it up. Sanju Samson looked in the best touch for India A, but a tactical error perhaps, to send him down at No.7. Deepak Chahar showed good temperament in hanging in and giving Samson support, and their stand has ensured the bowlers have at least something to bowl at, meagre though the total is.

India A will have to bowl exceedingly well to defend this. They have rested Mohammad Siraj for this match, that could prove to be another mistake given how well South Africa's seamers did.
