9.35pm Colin Munro has just been left out of the ODI squad for Bangladesh, possible signs that the selectors are looking to try out someone else with the World Cup. So there must've been some pressure as he walked out to bat today. How did he respond? By shellacking a 40-ball 72 at the same ground where he made an 18-ball half-century the last time he played a T20I here, against England at this time last year.

His taking apart of Krunal and Hardik made for some exhilarating viewing, a hundred looked on the cards until he mistimed a slog. Yes, he did live a charmed life, dropped twice, but if your game borders on the high risk, high-rewards methods, and you can pull it off like the way he did, you deserve some luck. Towards the end, Colin de Grandhomme did his thing to take this total past 200. Tim Seifert at the top of the order may have just give himself more than just an outside chance of figuring in New Zealand's World Cu plans. His fearlessness and ball-striking ability will make him a key player in the Powerplay. Besides that, there's a T20I series is at stake, and both sides want to finish this tour with the trophy in their kitty. This chase should be fun.
