James: "With India a bowler down WI could be in a very good position if they get off to a steady start. If they can bat well they could tire out the remaining bowlers. And with India batting last and folding the way they did this morning they won't want to chase 200 plus." --- Thing is, even with a bowler down, India have three quality spinners for these conditions and one pacer who can reverse it.
12:15pm Hello everyone. I recall someone who wanted India to take a quick 250-run lead last evening. I'm sure he/she adjusted their bearings in the first session and will be pretty pleased with the quick 56 India got instead. And while I warmed up for this session, my colleague Bharath Seervi told me that Jason Holder's bowling average this year - 11.87 - is the best (minimum 30 wickets) in a calendar year for any bowler since 1918! Check out the list, it's dominated by Pakistani fast bowlers.
11.47am Six wickets for West Indies, 53-run lead for India and the game is alive again. Anyone who assumed Rahane and Pant would've sleep walked their way to hundreds - wake up! Holder, captain marvel, showed what he's capable of and made the new ball talk in a superb opening burst to eat into the lower order. West Indies could've kept this lead to 30-odd if they didn't switch off with India nine down. Holder spread fields even with Ashwin not looking for a single given Shardul's injury and allowed the game to drift just slightly. That said, they will still believe a 200 plus lead will give them a decent chance of trying to make amends for the horrors of Rajkot. When we return after lunch, it'll be Varun Shetty to resume commentary duties. Cheers.

M Kartik on air talking about captain's trust and how not having it can affect a frontline spinner. Fair point, stuff from his own personal experience of having played under Ganguly perhaps.
Karthik K: "This is a gutsy innings from Shardul Thakur. It is a right decision by India to play on! As they need as much runs as they could, since they play last on this pitch. Any good lead of close to 100 will do good for them. On a 4 / 5th day pitch tailender's can't play more than couple of overs and score any runs, this is the right time to play them."

Akshat: "Don't know whether Holder will go down in the annals of history as one of the greats, but we may very well see him being the test player of the year, the way he is playing in 2018."
Should've been lunch but we can extend the session by 30 minutes because India are nine down. Here's Gabriel
