5.18pm Excellent lower order rally from Nicholas Pooran has allowed West Indies to get a respectable total after the middle order was choked by some Afghan spin. They began slowly in a batting template from the 1990s, looking to set themselves up. The risk with that strategy is, of course, the possibility of spinners coming into their own especially on surfaces like these that wear as the game progresses. This put the middle order under pressure, and the lookout for release shots left them in some strife. Thankfully for them, Pooran found his way out of the mess with a sensible approach, before he opened up with some big hits to drive the total forward.
