3.38pm This is the first instance of all ten wickets taken by right-arm off-spinners for India in a men's Test innings, says Sampath. And what a dominant performance this has been from both the Tamil Nadu spinners. R Ashwin started things off, Washington Sundar finished it. It was an important toss to win for NZ. They lost Tom Latham early lbw to Ashwin but Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell all played their part. New Zealand at one stage were 197 for 3 and it felt at that stage, they would get past 300 with ease. But Washington kept his lines tight, varied his pace well and reaped the rewards. He ushered a collapse which saw NZ losing seven wickets for 62 runs to be bowled out for 259. Not the easiest pitch to bat on but India will be delighted with their effort. Not long before India begin their innings.
Jayaram P: "Only 3 names appear in NZ scoreboard. Washington, Ashwin and Pant. No fielder's name in that list."
PK: "Interestingly, now both Ash and Sunder have BBI 7/59..."
