7:24pm The Welsh Fire have stuttered and stumbled their way to 87, which even on a surface that has offered help, does not seem enough. The early dismissal of Bairstow set the tone, and they could never really recover. Eskinazi was the only batter who was able to spend some time at the crease and he tried to hold things together. Once he perished, though, it was a procession.
While the hosts' batting display was abject, the Brave's bowling performance was excellent. Overton got the ball to move, picking up two wickets inside the powerplay. Mills then applied the finishing touches towards the end, with Garton also proving effective across phases. The Brave now have a very chaseable total in front of them and unless the Fire bowl out of their skins, or the Brave produce an implosion of epic proportions, this should be quite routine. Join us in a bit for the run-chase!
Tymal Mills: (On the display tonight) We were pretty good tonight. We stepped up, we knew this was a game we needed to perform in. The first half has gone well. (On the conditions) A typical Cardiff wicket, lot of reward for bowling a hard length. Kind of ground where you have to hold your length and use the bigger square boundaries.
