Rit Faisal: "From 20 overs, Ireland batted superbly and made this game a real competition !"

Don: "Keep Tector away from the IPL mate. He's not going to get any game time or just going to lose his confidence like Brook and Ireland anyway hardly plays in the subcontinent. A Hundred or BBL deal would do him some good. "

SkY: "Crazyyyy! Ohhhohhh! What a great batting display I have just seen from those Irish boys! I must appropriate the efforts that have been shown by them though I'm a Bangladeshi. Claps for them. All the best to Bangladesh."

Harry Tector: (On what he's doing right) I don't know to be honest, I work on my game a lot. I just make the most of good form because it's not always there. Great to have done well so far in my career but it's just a start. True test is if I can do it for a long period. Dockrell played brilliantly for the last two years to be able to come in and provide impetus in ODIs and T20s. Great to have my parents here, they got in this morning. Real special.

4:30pm: Tector's 140 and Dockrell's 74* punctuates a brilliant innings for Ireland after being put in to bat. They lost early wickets, Tector and Balbirnie had a tough time playing the quicks but counterattacked to perfection. Hasan Mahmud and Shoriful Islam held their lengths beautifully in the early overs but from around the tenth over, both batters chanced an arm. They tried to keep going and Balbirnie fell with the stand on 98. Shoriful struck twice and when Taijul got Campher, Ireland were on 167 for 5 with nearly 15 overs to go. But Tector, who got a life or two, took full fearless charge. Dockrell started by complementing him and then rose up to Tector's intensity. The No. 4 finished with a career-best score and Adair joined Dockrell to take Ireland over 300. For the visitors, Shoriful - who was taken down at the end - being given his full quota and Mehidy coming on after 40 overs for the first time in the innings was surprising and arguably costly. Hasan was brilliant, Shakib and Taijul bowled tight when they could but Tector and Dockrell took them apart once they got going. Their fielding saved quite a few runs but are they still left with too much? Sudarshanan will be in after the break to find out with you.

Ebadot Hossain to Tector, OUT, Tector misses the bash over long-on and bails fly. He walks back in disappointment, his parents applaud, his team-mates walk out to cheer him back. The crowd stand up and clap along as well, he raises his bat as Shipping up to Boston plays in the background. That was a full ball that curved in, Tector stayed leg side and looked to swing it golf-like over mid-on and Ebadot pointed his index finger towards the batter in celebration

Ankur: "@Ranil, I don't think so. Ireland have visited the subcontinent (Both Bangladesh and Ireland) last month, and didn't show that much good there. That shows some weakness of the team. As the WC will be at India, so I think it is too early to come to a concrete decision. Obviously this type of performance will boost up their confidence. "
