Galle looked on course for 200+ with ease but the wheels fell off with a string of bad ball dismissals. There was nothing glamorous about the Dambulla bowling barring a double-strike in the 8th over by Ramesh Mendis that stemmed momentum for a bit. Galle's inability to capitalize after their strong Powerplay has left the door open for Dambulla to clinch another victory and make the battle for Galle to get the fourth and final playoff spot that much tougher. Rajitha to Lakshan, 2 runs, dropped! Slower ball lands short on off and slaps this flat to long-on. Perera reads it well off the bat and charges hard before sliding forward on his knees to convert it into a chance but it bursts through his hands at thigh height. Excellent effort, most fielders would've let that bounce in front for a single and avoided possible embarrassment. But it should've been taken after he covered the ground to get there.
