So a target of 109 off 18 overs for Stars to make it into tomorrow's Qualifier. They've done everything right so far, making the Gladiators work for every run and they'll want to now finish it off in the same exemplary manner. That said, this didn't seem to be the easiest pitch to bat on, with the rain resulting in a wicket that would skid on at times and then stick at others. Only debutant Sahan Arachchige managed to make batting look relatively straight forward, hitting 53 off 32 deliveries. Aside from him only Imad Wasim with 17 reached double figures. Much of that was down to an excellent display with the ball from Stars, starting with Lakmal and Rajitha at the top, Nabi through the middle and the Howell at the death. Whichever way you slice it, this is a subpar total from Gladiators, and Stars will be very confident of chasing it down. Join us in a bit for the chase!

Howell to Thushara, 2 runs, pulled off a length towards deep midwicket, and the hustle for the second. Just about makes it. And with that Gladiators end on 108 for 9.

Howell to Imad Wasim, OUT, But Asalanka makes up for it here! My word! This was slapped in the air down the ground and Asalanka runs to his right and takes an outstanding diving catch to his right

Howell to Imad Wasim, FOUR, Almost another bit of quality fielding, but can't stop the boundary. This was in the slot and muscled off the back foot towards deep midwicket. Asalanka runs from long-on and dives to stop the boundary, but he only manages to push it into the ropes

Howell to Imad Wasim, 2 runs, Brilliantly fielded at long-off! This was a length ball, slapped hard straight down the ground, but Lakmal makes great ground and throws himself at this to save a boundary

Rajitha to Sandakan, OUT, chops it on! This was a slower bouncer and Sandakan, making room, is taken by surprise. He ends up swinging wildly at this and only manages an under edge on to the base of the stumps
