4:45pm The Strikers will be fairly pleased with this effort. Angelo Perera and Gurbaz got them off to a scintillating start, bringing up 50 inside four overs. A slow-down followed, as both batters got dismissed but Phillips hung around, and kept finding the fence regularly. He finished with 70 off 43 and that set the foundation for a score in excess of 190. Shadab did his bit towards the end too, and 199 seems a pretty handy total, especially in a day game.

The Falcons, on the other hand, will feel they could have contained the batters better. They were slightly indecisive at the start of the innings, and Chameera's plans in the 19th over, when bowling to Shadab, also left a bit to be desired. That said, they kept picking wickets and that is perhaps why they now have to chase 200, rather than something in the 210-220-range. Shadab tries to go inside out but the lack of pace means that he does not get he purchase he is after. Scuffs it and Chaturanga gobbles up the chance at extra cover. A very enterprising cameo, though, and it has taken the Strikers to the brink of 200!
