4:44pm A three-part innings really. First came the powerplay fireworks, largely courtesy of Hales. At that point, it seemed a score in the 170-180 range was on the cards. Then, came the middle-overs squeeze, instigated by the Dambulla spinners, Hemantha and Nabi. Almost every batter struggled during that phase but the shackles started coming off towards the end, with the final five overs yielding 51 runs.

That has gotten the Galle Marvels to 148, which may not seem a tall score, but definitely gives them more than a fighting chance, considering how sluggish this surface has been.
