Akindu: "Dont count galle out yet. Theekshana can worm wonders on a pitch like this and udana and pretorius are real wild cards. The game is very much still on"

9.33pm So Galle just couldn't get their innings rolling. Seifert hung around but fell at the death, so the late power finish never materialised. Pathirana bowling four straight at the death probably played a massive role in that as he ended on innings best figures of 4 for 20. But throughout the innings Colombo kept to gnawing lines and lengths, and the fielding backed it up. This though isn't the easiest track to bat on, so there's still work to be done to hunt these down - especially against Theekshana and co. We'll be back for the start of the chase shortly.

W
Pathirana to Vandersay, OUT, Ha! He's only done it again! A tailender's nightmare. Swinging in on leg stump, scorching scorching yorker as Galle are bowled out for 138!

JDF Vandersay b Pathirana 0 (1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Akindu: "At this point just dont let Gurbaz vote on reviews. How many ahs he bungled in the last couple of matches" --- Rivalling Dickwella at this point.

W
Pathirana to Theekshana, OUT, Searing yorker! There's the yorker everyone's been clamouring for. This was quick and tailing in, too good for Theekshana, too good for most. Middle and leg are disturbed

M Theekshana b Pathirana 0 (2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Pathirana to Theekshana, no run, back of a length outside off, play and a miss

Theekshana is the new batter

W
Pathirana to Liyanage, OUT, And now he's gone! Again good length, slightly wider, slightly slower. Liyanage backs away once more, but this time can only chip it in the air. Angelo Perera at cover does well to hold on as this falls over his shoulder

J Liyanage c AK Perera b Pathirana 13 (11b 1x4 0x6) SR: 118.18

Pathirana to Liyanage, FOUR, What a way to start the over! Good length, 149kph, on off. Clears the front leg, leans back, and just cracks this through extra cover

Shadab Khan to Liyanage, 1 run, Another reverse pull/sweep/swat. Very ungainly whatever it was, but he can't beat Binura at short fine

Shadab Khan to Liyanage, no run, But does he have one here?! Liyanage goes for the reverse and looks to have missed it here, but Gurbaz is certain there was a nick through. He somehow manages to convince his skipper for a review. There is the faintest of murmurs on the Ultra Edge as it passes the bat, but there seems to be a gap between bat and ball. Not out.

1
Shadab Khan to Pretorius, 1 run, tossed up, and it might have been the googly, but no matter ended up a full-toss. Driven to long-on

And Shadab is on another hat-trick...will DRS foil him again? Will he go for a googly again?

18.3
W
Shadab Khan to Udana, OUT, Gone first ball! Looks to drag this fuller oner from outside off, gets hold of the slog sweep but can't beat the man at wide long-on

Here's Udana then

Shadab Khan to Seifert, OUT, Shadab hits back straight away! Good length leg break, but this time it's straighter. Seifert goes for the reverse sweep, but he doesn't execute the way he wants. Ends up chipping a catch straight to short third

Pathirana to Seifert, 1 leg bye, short and caught and backward point! The crowd celebrates, but the umpire is unmoved. This looks like it came off the helmet, but Colombo review. And indeed replays show that there was no bat or glove near this.

Pathirana to Seifert, no run, full and in the slot as he missed the length, but Seifert can't get it away. Swung away straight to midwicket

Akindu: "Pathirana not sticking to yorkers is smart. Becoming a one trick horse makes you too predictable. Now a batsman has no idea till he releases wether its a short or a yorker since both are equally viable"

1

Fernando to Liyanage, 1 run, short of a length cutter outside off, backs away and slaps this in front of square now. Less work for Sadeera this time as he keeps it to a single

Fernando to Liyanage, 2 runs, Carved over point! But good work in the deep by the boundary ride to keep this to just two.

Fernando to Seifert, 1 run, short of a length cutter, 112kph, angled away from off. Pulled to long-on
16.3
