"It felt really good," Tammy Beaumont tells the BBC. "We knew that New Zealand were going to come really hard at us but it was just a case of assessing the conditions and sticking to our strengths. It was more the timing to take [Kasperek] down. It wasn't necessarily a predetermined plan but on the night that was working. [Opening] I've probably been under pressure for my spot over the last few years so I really wanted to put in a good performance. I've been wanting to do this for a while. [Depth] You look at Emma Lamb who has been brilliant for a number of years and you have so much pressure on you but that's a challenge to push yourself and continually improve."

That's all from us tonight. Thanks for joining us - we'll be back on Saturday for the second T20I at Hove.

Satterthwaite the only batter to get going for New Zealand, whose chances of chasing that mammoth total down were effectively over when the Smash Sisters managed only 3 off 12 between them. Clinical by England after Tammy Beaumont's excellent 97 set things up. Amy Jones brilliant too, first with the bat and then with the gloves.

Ecclestone to Kasperek, OUT, all over red rover! More impressive glovework from the exceptional Jones. Kasperek skips down but is beaten by the quicker one which flies between bat and body. Jones is unsighted but whips the bails off for a sharp stumping, and England win by 46
