12pm: England rumbled for 165, and the high priests of Bazball will have to go back to the drawing board (for now, at least). Dean Elgar will be delighted, having won the toss and watched his attack do their thang; Kagiso Rabada was in fine rhythm after injury and led the way with a five-wicket bag, but he was ably supported by Anrich Nortje and Marco Jansen (the wicketless Lung Ngidi wasn't too shabby either). Time for SA's batters to see if they can hammer home the early advantage. Ankur Dhawan will be here for that shortly
Here's Neil: "It's not going to be very easy for SA batting next up in these conditions with Potts and Anderson in good rhythm recently....also they've gone in with just 6 batters with Verryene at 6 makes for a thin line up."
"Given the amount of movement SA have got through the innings, I fancy this to be a par score with Jimmy taking at least 5," opines Henry Johnson. "Reckon Robinson would have had a bunch as well if playing."
"Rabada is world class," chirps Krypto. "What a great feeling it must be getting on the honours board at Lord's. Need the batsman to do their part, seeing that has been the tempestuous part of the SA setup."
"I must say Alan, I enjoyed 'goosed'. It made me want to get right up from my desk and go and give something a good goosing." Get out there and seize the fowl, Richard
JM Anderson lbw b Rabada 0 (6m 1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00
Out comes James Anderson, to polite applause. Rabada will stay on here in pursuit of a five-for, and a spot on the Lord's honours board

"Are cricinfo commentators in a secret competition to see who can make up the craziest verbs for boundary strokes? 'Larruped' is certainly a recent favourite of mine amongst several other words which are quite new to me." Thanks, Temba. It's really just for my own amusement...
Short leg and leg slip for Potts

"The dilemma for me is that I love traditional test cricket but there is less and less of an audience for it. So this is probably the future and will save the format. Oh god I have become my father!!" Don't worry, Chris, it comes to us all
Tom B: "How is this pitch playing this morning compared to yesterday?" Still a bit of seam movement, it's fairly fresh after all. But SA will hope it settles down through the course of the day (provided they take these last two wickets quickly)

"With only Jimmy to come, can we have Maharaj please," chirps Tiggsy. "South Africa should not be depriving us of reverse sweeps."
