A seminal moment in Bangladesh cricket history and this is also their first WTC win in this current cycle. It just keeps getting better for the tiny nation. It has been a great 5 days at the Bay Oval with the sun beating down on one of the most picturesque grounds in the world. Thanks for the feedback and do keep them coming in. Check in soon to read all the reaction and analysis from the game on this platform. Hope you enjoyed our coverage. Until next time, on behalf of Varun Shetty, and the scorers, Chandan and Binoy, signing off from here. Stay safe and take care. See you soon.

Mominul Haque: It was a team work, everyone was keen to win this match. Everyone put in their support in all departments. We won because of our bowlers, they bowled in the right areas and tried to follow the process as well. We know when the sun's out in New Zealand, the wickets spin and we try to utilise these things. Ebadot was unbelievable. Outstanding effort. We didn't play well the last couple of times in the Test matches here, so it was very important to put our legacy to the next level in the Test matches. Today I want to forget this and we have to look forward to the Christchurch match as well."

Latham: "We weren't quite there in all three facets really, Bangladesh certainly showed us how to go about things on that wicket. They were able to build partnerships, apply a lot of pressure and unfortunately we weren't able to do it for long enough. There have been only two Test matches here, both matches have been similar, probably a little bit slower than what we expected and did not quite break up as much. We sort of knew what it would be like, probably looking back at the first innings, the position we were in - if we get 450, then it's probably a different story but full credit to Bangladesh, they thoroughly deserve the win. It hurts but we have got to turn to Christchurch in a few days' time and hopefully we will take the learnings from this and apply them to what will be a different surface at Hagley. Every individual has to reflect on their learnings from what was a slightly different surface here and our focus has got to turn to Hagley and hopefully we can put up a good performance there."

Ebadot Hossain: "First of all thanks to Allah. Secondly, in New Zealand soil, our brothers and teams didn't get win in the last 21 years. We set a goal this time. We raised our hand. We have to beat New Zealand in their own soil. They are Test champions, our next generation has to beat New Zealand.

"In the last two years, I am working with Ottis Gibson. Conditions are always flat at home. We are still learning how to bowl and reverse in away conditions. I am trying to hit the top of the stumps. I needed to be a little patient for success to come. "I am a soldier of Bangladesh Air Force so I know how to do the salute. It was a long story, from volleyball to cricket. I am enjoying cricket, representing Bangladesh and Bangladesh Air Force."

Ebadot Hossain is the Player of the Match for his 6/46 in the second innings.

Nabil: "What i am most impressed with is the manner in which this historic win came. BD dominated the game for most of the 5 days. They were hands down the better team. Hats Off Bangladesh brilliant job!"

Zihad: "The win tastes even sweeter without Shakib "

Here's Taskin speaking after the game: "Incredible. It is a great achievement for us. Our first win out of Asia. We didn't think about the result. We stuck to the process. We gave our 110 per cent. It is lovely to have this support. Normally in New Zealand, we have played a lot of games. This is our first win."

AmericanCricket: "We have witnessed the dawn of a new era. This team has tasted victory in overseas conditions. They'll remember it, and will take the lessons they learned to other shores. I bet they're gonna win a few more matches overseas in the coming years. "

Nayeem: "Can't control my tears, undoubtedly proudest moment in the history of Bangladesh cricket."

New Zealand were below-par and probably a bit ring-rusty in their first home Test since being crowned WTC champions. They will look back on their first innings when they were 227/3 under good batting conditions and they could manage just 328 as one of the main factors for the defeat. Then Bangladesh racked up a lead of 130 with patient batting and resolve before Ebadot wreaked havoc. For New Zealand both Southee and Jamieson looked off-colour with the ball which put pressure on the others. Questions will also be asked now for leaving out Ajaz Patel on what was a slowish wicket.

Bangladesh came into this game as massive underdogs and even a draw or taking the game into the final day was considered as an achievement. But they have turned all those predictions upside down with a win for the ages. Set up by Ebadot Hossain who bowled a career-defining spell yesterday - after a underwhelming first innings effort - and this morning. He relentlessly attacked the stumps and let the pitch do the rest, and ran in ball after ball with intensity. His spell broke the back of New Zealand in the 3rd innings and Bangladesh rode on that to a famous win.

Here's Shakib tweeting on what is a historic win for Bangladesh:

1:20pm local: The entire support staff of Bangladesh are all smiles and hugging each other. Great moment as Wagner greets Ebadot with a warm hug and a big smile. Greatest moment in Bangladesh's Test history. Who would've predicted this before the start of the game. One of Test cricket's biggest upsets ever. Against the reigning WTC champs in their own backyard. And to overcome this stat: they have never won against New Zealand in any format in New Zealand before today. They have done this without Shakib and Tamim - arguably their two best players. Unbelievable! Credit to the entire Bangladeshi contingent including the support staff of coach Russell Domingo, batting coach Ashwell Prince, bowling coaches Ottis Gibson and Rangana Herath.

Jamieson to Mushfiqur Rahim, FOUR, there it is! Rahim with the winning runs and Bangladesh create history. Length outside off, Rahim steers it through backward point and comes back for the second, big roar followed by a punch of the air and a hug with Mominul before he has a nice chat with Ross Taylor

Vignesh Muthuku: "Following world cricket right from the Eastern Coast of United States. Starting the day at 2.05AM (on alternative days) with Big Bash, followed by SA vs IND occupying the major portion of the morning, then tuning in with NZ vs Ban with some hot lunch and finishing the day and dinner with Ashes! Can keep watching this sport all day long!"
