3:23 pm: India's innings is over. West Indies will play 35 overs max. The innings will start in ten minutes. 257 will be the target.
Anjan: "Like DL adjusting the numbers, can't they provide Gill with atleast 2 runs :D "
3:06 pm: The rain's persisting. So Gill might end up with an excellent 98*.
Tony: "What are the duckworth Lewis scores?? For 20 25 and 30 overs" Here's Sampath answering promptly: 263 if that stays 36 overs 232 if it is 30 overs 205 for a 25-over chase 175 in 20 overs
Praveen: "Who here feels that chasing 175 in 20 is a lot easier than 263 in 36. (Consider it as a start of 88/0 in 16 overs)" 14 overs but even without that, it's an engaging thought experiment.
Shakti: "Tomorrow early morning I am having office, still I am hopeful to see Gill's first international hundred. Is there any chance India will get atleast 1 more over??? Unlikely but let's wait, maybe the official word could be a pleasant surprise.
CanGoogleButWhy: "How does the weather forecast look like for the rest of the day?" Gloomy, but again, solid username.
Darpan Tikiya : "If India had lost more wickets, that would have effected them negatively w.r.t. the DLS target, isn't it?" Yes
Armchairexpert: "Looks like Bairstow is playing for his 100 too!" Well played with the username.
2:42 pm: There's some drizzle. The players are leaving. Gill trudges off, 98 red-ink, which isn't a cliffhanger you'd want to be a part of. The covers are now on. 12 overs have bowled since the delay for 110 runs. Gill and Iyer looked to go for big hits whenever possible. West Indies' bowlers started poorly but Hosein held up an end. They managed to remove Iyer and SKY. Samson was just in, India were looking to continue charging and rain arrived. This could be the end of the innings. But let's hope it's a passing shower and we get to have more gametime.
Azweer : "Bairstow's six helps England beat India..!!" What 4D cricket principle led to this?
Santhosh: "England on track to beat India's score in 20 overs. "
Manoj: "What's with commentators just publishing comments from arm chair experts about what someone "who is actually on the field" should do, while sitting at home sipping tea? Seriously, raise the bar!" It's hard to ban vicariousness.
Vikash: "England is on fire against SA. They hit seven sixes in last 3 overs."
Nandagopal: "While I do feel sorry for Gill, he did have enough balls to get to 100. He has not played selfless cricket in the last few overs.." To be fair, he tried to go big as did the others. A couple got out, he just couldn't get boundaries.
Amit: "Gill have scored 22 runs in last 19 balls, he need to increase the tempo this slow batting will drag the team down in ICC tournaments."
