7:58pm Wow, that was some innings by MI Emirates. Waseem, in particular, set the tone during the powerplay and put the Vipers under all sorts of pressure. Fletcher was slower off the blocks but caught up once the powerplay finished. Then, a couple of wickets fell quickly and it threatened to derail MI Emirates, only for Pollard to roll back the years and produce a 19-ball fifty. Mousley, on debut, did his bit too, meaning that MI Emirates now have a mountain of runs to defend.
As for the Vipers, well, they were put to the sword tonight. Their execution left a lot to be desired and their planning was not quite up to scratch either. The pitch, in their defence, did not offer them much, although they could have done better to restrict MI Emirates to a slightly smaller score. They are certainly under the pump at this stage, and you reckon they'd need something special to pull this one out of the fire. Do join us in a bit for the run-chase!
Andre Fletcher: (On opening) It is a good feeling. Got an opportunity to do what I love. (On the surface) It was really good. We have been struggling with the bat as a unit and it was good that we could get a good total on the board. We don't want to take things for granted but we can hopefully defend this.
Right. Pollard needs six runs to get to a fifty. Can he get there?
We have a review ongoing for an lbw
